Brad Mitchell of McKinney, TX died on 11/10/24 of pancreatic cancer. Born in Olney, TX on 11/11/55, he
attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Brad
ran a successful engineering consulting firm for over 25 years. A private pilot for over 40 years and a
true aviator, Brad loved to take to the skies. His most memorable aviation adventures involved taking his
vintage 1941 Aeronca Chief or his 1943 Taylorcraft L2-M on cross country trips to antique aircraft fly-ins.
Brad enjoyed playing tennis and participated in the USTA National Championships in 2021. Brad leaves
behind numerous tennis and aviation friends from all over the globe.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Preston and Mary Ethel Bruton of Newcastle, TX.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy, and their children Ellen Willis and Preston Mitchell, as well
as two grandchildren.
Per Brad’s request, there will be no funeral service. His family will conduct a private memorial to honor
his life and to mourn his passing.
