Royce Wayne Michener, age 73, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on February 9, 2026 surrounded by those who loved him.
Royce was born on December 17, 1952 in Fort Worth, He was the beloved son of Roy and Geneva Michener. He lived a life defined by his faith, kindness, hard work, humor, devotion to his family and generosity to others.
He was a cherished husband, a loving father, grandfather and loyal friend to many. Royce found joy in many things especially the outdoors. A few of his most favorite passions were hunting, fishing, telling jokes and spending time with family. He had a special way of making everyone around him feel valued and loved.
Above all else, Royce will be remembered for his strength, his faith and his selflessness. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family that loved him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; daughters Christi Littlefield and husband Brian; Tammi Luckey and husband Chuck; Holli Michener and husband John Burke; grandchildren Corbin Luckey and wife Zoe Grundy; Grayson Luckey and Abigail Littlefield; siblings Dick Michener and wife Kathy, Donna Davis and husband J.A., Paul Michener and wife Vicki as well as many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Geneva Michener.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 19, 2026
The Hills Church chapel at 11:00 am.

Our family is deeply grateful to The Hills Church, Lake Cities Church of Christ, and so many dear friends for the meals, prayers, love, and constant support. Your presence, kindness, and faithfulness carried us through Royce's final months and brought more comfort than we could ever put into words. We will forever be thankful for each of you.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation or the Amyloidosis Research Consortium.
