Judith Ann Engel (Bradley), of Fairview, Texas, passed away on July 7, 2026, after battling an aggressive cancer. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Douglas R. Engel, as well as her two living children, Stacy Krause and Doug Engel.

Born on December 28, 1939, the first child and only daughter of H.O. and Louanna Bradley. Judy graduated from Peru High School in Indiana and worked at the Bank, family Optical Store, and at times her favorite job, stay-at-home mom.

Judy grew up playing tennis and enjoyed watching all sports, especially women’s sports as she was passionate about supporting and advancing women. She was present for all her children’s activities through the years, volunteered to bring snacks or chaperone, never forgot a birthday for extended family, or missed an opportunity to be in service to others. She was the “rock” and the matriarch who did not want any spotlight on herself but instead chose to be the most reliable guiding force behind the scenes that everyone could count on. She was intelligent, kind, hard-working, generous and was always thinking, preparing ahead, and anticipating the needs of her family. She was known for her wardrobe, hat, and sunglass collection in various shades of her favorite color, purple. She was immensely proud of her two grandchildren, Avery and Sloane. She beamed with happiness talking about them, kept photos of them around her constantly, and smiled brightly when she was with them.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother, father, and first-born daughter Shelly Lynn Engel. She leaves behind a loving family including her husband Doug, daughter Stacy Krause (Mike), son Doug Engel (Sarah), grandchildren Avery and Sloane Engel, as well as brothers Jim Bradley (Paula) and Jerry Bradley (Cassie).

Her desire was to be cremated without a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Susan G. Komen or American Cancer Society in her honor.
