Larry Morgan Hoofard

April 5, 1958 - July 17, 2026

Larry Morgan Hoofard, a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Meadows Baptist Church, 3001 Los Rios Blvd., Plano, TX 75074.

Larry was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 5, 1958, and grew up in Dallas and Irving. He graduated from Irving High School in 1977 and spent his career in logistics, warehousing, and trucking services.

Larry loved books, classic movies, music, and a good Mexican meal, especially when shared with family and friends. He particularly enjoyed the works of Louis L'Amour, John Wayne films, and the Beatles. For many years, he shared his voice as a member of the adult choir at the United Methodist Church.

An avid sports fan, Larry rooted for his hometown teams: the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Stars. You could find him watching or cheering from the stands at local stock car races, as well as supporting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Larry was a proud and not-so-humble Texan. Some of his most cherished memories were made near Kerrville, Texas. As a child, he enjoyed annual trips with his parents and brothers. Later, he continued that tradition at Waltonia, near Hunt, Texas, where he treasured time with his children, extended family, and friends. Whether sharing stories, enjoying good food, or simply being together, Larry valued the memories made with the people he loved most.

Larry is survived by his son, Zachary Hoofard; his daughter, Victoria (Stephen) Gray; his grandchildren, Shayne, Maverick, and Sadie Mae Gray; his brothers, James Kenneth "Ken" (Monica) Hoofard Jr., Richard (Monette) Hoofard, and Ron (Maureen) Hoofard; his nephews, James and Michael Hoofard; his nieces and nephews, Colleen, Maddie, Bridget, Riley, and Aidan Hoofard; and many cherished cousins, family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Kenneth Hoofard and Ruby Frankcene "Frankie" Hoofard.

His love for Texas and devotion to his family will be remembered by all who knew him. Larry will be deeply missed, and his family will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
